Let M(x)=-x^3+8x^2-x+1. Find M(-1).

To get the value of M(-1) you need to substitute -1 in place of x in M(x)

 

     M(x) =  - x³ + 8.x²  - x    +1

so M(-1) = -(-1)³+8(-1)²-(-1) +1
