Let's begin by calculating the length of line XZ given that it's 3/4 the length of line XY and the length of line XY is given as 10:
XZ = (3/4) x 10 = 7.5
Now we can determine point Z, which is one of the endpoints of the line XZ, since the difference of a line's two endpoints is it's length:
x - (-4) = 7.5
x + 4 = 7.5
x = 7.5 - 4
x = 3.5 (point Z)
