If the function is f(x) = 2x - 2, the domain and the range can be represented by both the set builder notation and the interval notation.
- the domain, the set of all the x values, in interval notation, (-∞, ∞) However, in set builder notation, Domain={x|xεℜ}, it reads " the set of x, such that x is the element of all real numbers."
- the range, the set of all the y values ( in other words what f(x) equals), in interval notation, (-∞, ∞) However, in set builder notation, Range={y|yεℜ}, it reads " the set of y, such that y is the element of all real numbers.
