How do I change y=zv3 to z=y/v3?

Not sure how y ends up the numerator here.

y = zv³

 

If we want to isolate z we need to divide both sides by

v³

 

y/v³ = zv³/v³

 

y/v³ = z

 

This is the same as z = y/v³

Note:  If  a = bc   then  a/c = b

 

When one has an equality you can multiply or divide both sides by

the same factor or add or subtract the same thing from both sides

and still have an equality:

 

2(3) = 6

2 = 6/3   or  3 = 6/2

 

2+5 = 7

5 = 7-2   or   2 = 7-5

 

and so forth.
