The domain is all the possible input values for x
The range is all possible outcome values y or f(x) or g(x)
For f(x) = x-13 there are no restrictions on possible input values for x
Domain = (-∞, ∞)
The range is the same since the outcome values for f(x) are not restricted
Range = (-∞, ∞)
Note the open parentheses instead of brackets... This is because the endpoints
at negative and positive infinity are not actually included because they can
never be reached.
for g(x) = 7x2
There are no restrictions on input values for x so domain is (-∞, ∞)
For output values g(x) note that no matter what value of x we put
in the output will always be a positive number or zero if x=0
Range = [0, ∞)
Note the bracket on left side indicates that 0 is included in the range
