A reciprocal is really just a fancy word which means "flip the fraction."
Ok, but the number 2 isn't written as a fraction. Well, luckily for us we can express 2 as a fraction quite easily.
To write any whole number as a fraction simply put it over 1. The number 2 written as a fraction would be 2/1 (two wholes).
So the reciprocal is simply flipping that fraction which would then become 1/2 or one half.
