A) It appears your equation is supposed to be (√6 + 1)(√6 - 1)
= (√6)(√6) - √6 + √6 -1 = 6 -1 = 5
There is a formula for equations of this type (a-b)(a+b) = a2-b2
(√6)2 - (1)2 = 6 - 1 = 5
B) (4 +3√3)(4 - 3√3)
Again we can use the formula so this is 42 - (3√3)2 = 16 - (3)2(√3)2 = 16 - 9(3)
= 16 - 27 = -11
