If you are trying to find the inverse function f-1(y) then:
We have f(y) = (25-9y)/5
to find the inverse function we do the following:
1) replace f(y) with x
thus gives x = (25-9y)/5
2) Switch x and y in the equation giving
y = (25-9x)/5
3). Solve for x
25-9x = 5y
9x = -5y + 25
x = (-5y+25)/9
4). Replace x with f-1(y)
f-1(y) = (-5y+25)/9

- 5 / 9 ( y - 25 )

Divide each term in the numerator by the denominator.
(25 / 5) - (9y /5) =
5 - (9y/5)
Long division, baby!
