Graph the two functions on the same coordinate system. You should have a positive parabola with a y-intercept of (0,0) and a negative parabola with a y-intercept of (0,3). Find the points that the two graphs have in common. This is known as the point of intersection. The point of intersection is the solution.

This applies to all functions. As long as the graphs have the potential of intersecting, we will have solutions. But if the graphs have the same slope, then there will never be any solutions.
