Do you mean this?
Y3
------
-3xy2
If you do then...
First work with the y's. There is a 3rd power of y in the numerator and a second power in the denominator. By the rules of division of power, y3/y2 = y(3-2) = y1 = y
So that leaves you with:
y
-----
-3x
Usually it's best to take negatives out of the denominator, which you would do by multiplying both the fraction by -1 / -1. That doesn't change the value, because -1 / -1 = 1.
So you get:
-1 y -y -y
--- x ---- = ----------- = -----
-1 -3x (-1)(-3x) 3x
So the best answer is -y / 3x
