Need help solving this equation.

(x - 2) (3x+7) = 0

Since anything times 0 equals 0, then the equation will be true if either of the factors equals 0.  To solve this, we just have to set each factor equal to 0 and solve.

x - 2 = 0                    3x + 7 = 0

x = 2                          3x = -7

                                 x = -7/3

There are two correct answers for the problem.  x = 2 and x = -7/3
