1/8x+4(1/6x-2)=3

I have tried to solve this for 20 minutes

x should be in denominator. You have to turn your fraction down: x = 19/264.

that is the case if and only if the original equation was:

1/(8x) + 4(1/(6x) - 2) = 3

if that is the case then you are right.

1/8 + 4/6 = 19/24

therefore 1/8 x + 4/6 x - 8 = 3

              19/24 x = 11   and  x = 264/19
