I'm struggling with finding the correct formula for this problem. Can you please help find the value of 'F' and give me a formula:

(1400-1353)/((1400*2.75)-(1353*F)) = 0.8

First, workout the operations indicated inside the parentheses so as to reduce the expression on the left hand side of the equation:

     (1400-1353) = 47

     (1400•2.75) = 3850

     (1353•F) = 1353F

                              (1400-1353)/((1400•2.75)-(1353•F)) = 0.8

                                        (47)/((3850)-(1353F)) = 0.8

     ((3850)-(1353F)) = 3850 - 1353F

                                        (47)/((3850)-(1353F)) = 0.8

                                          47/(3850 - 1353F) = 0.8

Next, cross multiply to arrive at the following:

             47/(3850 - 1353F) = 0.8/1

             47•1 = 0.8•(3850 - 1353F)

             47 = 0.8•3850 - 0.8•1353F

             47 = 3080 - 1082.4F

To solve for F, subtract 3080 from both sides of the equation then divide both sides by the coefficient of F:

             47 - 3080 = 3080 - 3080 - 1082.4F

             -3033 = -1082.4F

             -3033/-1082.4 = -1082.4F/-1082.4

             2.802 = F
