The trick is to get X on one side of the equation and getting all of the others on the other side of the equation!
Here we have 2p = kX - q
Re-write the equation trying to keep the term containing X on the right
Step 1) Add +q on either sides of the equal sign.
2p+q = kX - q +q = kX
Step 2) Divide both sides by 'k' since we are interested in only X and not kX
(2p+q) / k = (kX) / k = X
Therefore X= (2p+q) / k
try to do it step by step so that you dont miss out anything.
