you should multiply -3 to parenthesis so it would be -3×6y and -3×5 , as you see 3 has minus sign and 6y and 5 have plus sign and we know that - multiply to + is - ====> - × + = - 

so we wil have -18y-15= 0

now we are going to find the y so we put -15 on the other side of equal and it turns out to +15 ===> -18y=15 or -18y=+15

so y is 15÷(-18) and as we mentioned +(-)= -  or + ÷ - = - , so y= 15÷(-18)= -15/18 or -5/6 or -0.8333...
