The final answer is "13 and 14 or -14 and -13", but how do I set the problem up and translate it into an equation that I can then solve?

This is a story problem on odysseyware and I have no clue how to even go about figuring it out.

William tried to solve x=10-2y and y-x=5. He substituted 10-2y for x in the second equation. He got y-10-2y=5 anda Found y= -15 .

By substituting y=-15 in the first equation he found x=40 but the answer did not check. . Find his error and correct the solution
