I approach exam preparation by focusing on how students think through questions, not just what they know.
Most students I work with have already studied the content, but they struggle with analyzing questions, identifying what matters most, and choosing the safest or highest-priority answer. That’s where I focus my teaching.
I help students:
• Break down questions step by step
• Identify the underlying problem or clinical issue
• Prioritize using frameworks such as safety, ABCs, and “what would harm the patient first”
• Recognize patterns rather than rely on memorization
• Build a clear, repeatable approach they can use independently
During sessions, we work through practice questions together, but the emphasis is on the student explaining their thinking. I guide and refine that process so they become more consistent and confident.
I also help students develop a structured study plan, so their time between sessions is focused and purposeful rather than overwhelming.
My goal is not just to help students get the right answer during our session, but to help them understand why—so they can apply that same reasoning on their exams.
