f(x) = 1 - |x| is the same as f(x) = -|x| + 1 meaning the "v-shaped" parent function (y = |x|) is reflected over the x-axis and moved up by 1 unit:

I understand that b=2 because it is the distance between -1 and 1. But, h=1 is confusing me (I know that I could just interpret it from the graph). However, my teacher said that we would take the b value and put it into the equation as x to get the h value. But when I am calculating that I get 1-abs(2) = -1. How did you get a positive 1?11/22/24
