First, i would start by saying I never liked simplifying fractions in context problems such as probability. 50 favorable outcomes out of a total off 100 possible outcomes has a much different context than 1 out of 2. This is just MY opinion and don’t need backlash.
To get to the problem, there are formulas for “given that” problems. The writer of the question most likely wants you to use them. However, if you use logical thinking, you can get to your answer much quicker with better understanding.
The formula for the (probability of A given B) is equal to the (probability of A and B) divided by the (probability of B).
