Use disk method to find volume of region enclosed by y=x, y=-x+1, revolved around y-axis

sketch the graph and find the volume, using the disk method, of the region enclosed y=x, y=-x+1, revolved about the y-axis.

Doug C.

Need another boundary to get an enclosed region. Perhaps y = 0?

Doesn't say in the problem. I'm assuming it's y=0

And it is also the case that if you are really supposed to use the disk method it really is the washer method (because there is a hole in the middle of each disk). Look for an answer based on y=0 is the other boundary, using washer method to revolve around x = 0.

This problem was posted twice and two other tutors answered under the assumption that the line x = 2 was the other boundary line, leading to a completely different solution. Under that interpretation the disk method does apply, so it likely was a correct understanding. desmos.com/calculator/kseunrssjn
