When a region bounded by a curve y=f(x) , y-axi, x-axis and straight line x=a,
Volume of the disc formed is given by the formula
V = Integral of( pi times y^2)dx from x =0 to x=a.

If te region is bounded by two curves y = f(x) and y = g(x). Find the points of intersection of the two curves. consider a vertical strip of length f(x) - g(x) and width dx. Elementary vlume when the region is revolved about axis of x is delta V = pi (f-g)^2dx. We then integrate it w.r,t. x from the x1 to x2, where (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) are the ponts of intersection of the two curves. Result of the integral gives the required volume.04/21/24
