Hey Natalie, here we simply follow the power rule to take the derivative. So we multiply the coefficient by the exponent and subtract one from the exponent. If it is a constant it goes away when we take the derivative, in this case we just take the derivative twice.
f'(x)=3x^2-8x
f''(x)=6x-8
