Assuming that you are grouping f(t) = (2 t + 2) / ( t + 3) , the QUOTIENT RULE is required: d/x (f/g) = (f' g - f g') / g^2 for the f(t) that I defined above, this will look like: f ' (t) = (2(t+3) - (2 t + 2) ) / (t+3) ^ 2 Distributing a combining like terms; this simplifies to f'(t) = 2 / (t +3)^2
