Question

I am a retired physician. I have a new chromebook. I am an Office 365 subscriber. But I really don't understand OneDrive. Rather than bang on the key board, I could use a tutor to help me. I find photos taken by my iphone up in the cloud and dont know how(they got there) or how to bring them down to earth(to store in my accessory hard drive). More important, docs on my laptop are sent to the cloud.How to turn that feature...off. Thank you. Sincerely Alan, Scottsdale AZ

Alan,

Files and images get up into the cloud because your devices settings are toggled to "on" giving permission to send them to the cloud.

You can resave those files/images into a folder on your computer. On a PC windows 10/11 you can select the "Pictures" folder found under the "This PC" folder which 1 more step down you will find the "Pictures" folder.
