y = mx + b is the slope-intercept form of the line.
5x + 6y = 6
(5x -5x) + 6y = -5x + 6 --> 6y = -5x + 6
6y/6 = -5x/6 + 6/6 --> 6/6 = 1 -5/6 cannot be reduced
y = -5/6x + 1
You can check this by finding two point that work for 5x + 6y = 6, such as x=0 then y =1 [5(0) + 6(1) = 0 + 6 = 6] or x=6 and y = -4 [5(6) + 6(-4) = 30 - 24 = 6] and then plug into y = -5/6x + 1. If x=0 then y = -5/6(0) + 1 = 0 +1 = 1 and if x=6 then y = -5/6(6) + 1 = -5 +1 = -4.
