Excel, SQL, Tableau Help

Question

Hi, I have a project due tonight for Management Information Systems at Rutgers University Business School that involves unpivoting data in excel for execution in SQL. I’m having a very difficult time if you can provide any help it would be greatly appreciated.

These are the instructions

1. The Excel workbook (•XLsx) containing all worksheets and formulae for unpivoting

Answer 1

1. Open the Excel workbook containing the data you want to unpivot.
2. Select the data you want to unpivot.
3. Click on the “Data” tab in the Excel ribbon.
4. Click on the “From Table/Range” button in the “Get & Transform Data” section.
5. In the “Power Query Editor”, select the columns that you want to unpivot.
6. Click on the “Unpivot Columns” button in the “Transform” tab.
7. Save the changes and close the “Power Query Editor”.
8. Export the data to a CSV file.
9. Open your SQL editor and create a new table with the appropriate columns.
10. Import the CSV file into the new table.
11. Write your SQL query to join the tables and retrieve the data you need.
