For the top piece f(x) = 3x + 2 {x ≤ –3

Its part of the graph will be

a ray starting with a closed circle at the point (–3, f(–3)) = (–3, –7)

and continuing downward to the left with a slope of 3

For the bottom piece f(x) = x +1 {x > –3

Its part of the graph will be

a ray starting with an open circle at the point (–3, f(–3)) = (–3, –2)

and continuing upward to the right with a slope of 1

Focus on

closed circle at (–3, –7)

and

open circle at (–3, –2)

and you should have no problem choosing the correct graph.

The graphs are small and cannot be blown up for reading in this image.

A is not correct, the line that goes to the left is less than or equal to, so it needs to be a solid dot to the left, this one is open.

B is not correct, this is not a piecewise function.

C or D could be correct. The second equation and graphs seem to be identical. The difference is the first equation, the slopes both look the same, the y intercepts are different. C looks like it is too low to be a y intercept of 2. So please confirm that, then D is the correct answer.
