One message to 1 expert seems to have many many other experts reply

Hi,

May ask why when I send 1 message out to 1 specific expert I have 10 others similar experts answering the same question?

*Does Wyzant send my message out to similar experts I haven't contacted?* They are responding to my "actual question" and not just with a description of their work.

Please advise as I don't see how else this could happen unless Wyzant automatically contacts other experts with my specific message to other experts I haven't at all contacted

What happens on Wyzant when I contact a specific expert please...

Hi Anthony,

From what I know, when you send a message to an expert on Wyzant, it doesn’t automatically go to other tutors. However, when you post a question or request, Wyzant does notify other experts who might be able to help, which is probably why you’re getting responses from other people. They see your request and are offering their help.

If you’re only looking to chat with the one expert you contacted, it’s best to reply to that person directly and you can just ignore the other messages if you’re not interested in more options.
