Suppose the position equation for a moving object is given by s(t)=6t2-5t+4 where S is measured in meters and T is measured in seconds.
a) find the average velocity on the interval [1, 4]
b) Find the instantaneous velocity of the object when t = 2.1 seconds
c) Find the acceleration of the object when t = 1.5 seconds

a) vav = (s(4) - s(1))/(4 - 1) = (80 - 5)/3 = 25 m/s
b) v(t) = s'(t) = 12t - 5; v(2.1) = 20.2 m/s
c) a(t) = v'(t) = 12 m/s2; a(1.5) = 12 m/s2
