Applications to geometry

Consider the region bounded by y = x2, y = 81, and the y-axis, for x ≥ 0. Find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region around the y-axis.


Hint:

Slice the object into disks horizontally. A typical disk has a thickness of Δy and a radius x = √y
