(5x-y)^4 -3y
for (-2,2)
=(-10-2)^4 -3(2)
=(-12)^4 -6
the point (-2,2) isn't on the graph of the equation
try a graphing calculator, online or handheld
the graph is a U type shaped curve but doesn't seem to go through the point (-2,2) although it comes very close,
points nearest (-2,2) on the curve appear to have slopes that are nearly vertical or undefined
the derivative y' = dy/dx = the slope of a tangent line at the point
there seems to be a problem with the problem, miscopied or misprinted
