Question

A particle moves at a constant speed along a line through P=(−1,−1,1) to point Q=(−2,−7,8). Find the parametric equations for its potions at time t if the particle passes through P at time t=2 and through point Q at time t=7

<Q> = <P> + <v>Δt

so <v> = (<Q> - <P>)/Δt = (1/5)<-1,-6,7> = <-1/5,-6/5,7/5>

speed is the magnitude of <v> = (1/5)sqrt(1²+6²+7²)

The other way to find speed is to find the distance between Q and P and divide by 5 seconds. Probably easier.
