The midpoint of any two points is the average of the x-coordinate and y-coordinates. This method is similar to finding the number between two middle numbers when finding the median of a set of numbers.
Midpoint = ( (x1 + x2) / 2 , (y1 + y2) / 2 )
= ( (1 + 8) / 2 , (5 + 10) / 2 )
= (9/2 , 15/2)
= (4.5 , 7.5)
The midpoint is (4.5 , 7.5)
