The midpoint M of a line segment PQ has the coordinates (5, 4).

If the coordinates of P are (1, -6), find the coordinates of Q.

is there a certain formula to solve this? if so, please explain well thanks :)

Use the midpoint formula.

Let Q = (x,y). Since M is the midpoint of PQ, (x+1)/2 = 5 and (y+(-6))/2 = 4

Solve for x and y.
