Is it my mixer or my DAW?

Hello. My name is Terrence McWilliams and I am trying to solve technical problems I am having with my home studio. I was looking for a place to get tech support when I found Wyzant. Maybe a tutor can help me learn what I am doing wrong.

Simply put, I can't get my Rode Procaster mics to pick up in the two DAWs I have tried to use, Audacity and Reaper. Going forward I think I want to stay with Reaper.

My input device is a Behringer Xenyx X1832USB mixer, running two mics via XLR cables and a Cloudlifter into my DAW. I know I have something hooked up right because I can play music from my computer through my mixer and I can hear myself on mic through my monitors, but I can't get it to record through my DAW.

I am willing to pay for several hours of tutoring if you feel you can help me fix my issue.
