Let f(x)= 6-x². Find the following:

a) f(7)-f(3)

Just plug in and simplify:

a) (-43-(-3))/(7-3) = -10

b) (6-(3+h)² - (6-3²))/h = (-6h-h²)/h = -6-h

You can see that h=4 leads to the answer in (a)
