How many mice are there in a litter?

Six mice are choosen (without replacement) from a litter containing three white mice. The probability that both white mice are chosen is twice the probability that neither is chosen. How many mice are there in a litter?

Both the words 'neither' (as in neither one nor the other) and 'both' (as in both of the twins are left handed) refer to TWO items. The question however stipulates a litter containing three white mice. This error must be resolved before an attempt to solve can be made. I'll follow.
