Think about "f 's" being like apples or something. 3 apples plus 4 apples is 7 apples, then take 2 away and you have 5 apples, or in this case, 5f. So:
5f = 125
You are not interested in what "5f" is; you want to know what "f" is. To get "f" by itself, divide both sides of the equation by 5:
5f/5 = 125/5
5f/5 is just "f"
125/5 is 25 so:
f = 25
