Find horizontal asymptote for the function

A business has a cost function of C=0.4x+8000, where C is measured in dollars and x is the number of units produced. The average cost per unit is given by C' = C/x = 0.4x+8000/x, x>0.

Find horizontal asymptote for this function?

C' = C/x = (0.4x + 8000)/x or 0.4 + 8000/x.

Its C' = (0.4x+8000)/x.

@Richard C. Shouldn't the function be simplified first so that we have (0.4x/x) + (8000/x) in which case the horizontal asymptote will be zero since the denominator is greater than the numerator?

If you do that then you get 0.4 + (8000/x) which still produces a horizontal asymptote of y=0.4 because the term 8000/x goes to zero.
