Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
f(x)= -x^4 -x -1
f(-1)=-1+1-1 =-1
-2f(1)= -2(-1-1-1)= -2(-3)= 6
tangent lines have slopes = derivative=f'(x)
f'(x)=-4x^3 -1
f'(-1) = 3
f'(1) = -5
-2f'(1)= 10
slope of the tangent line grew by 7 from 3 to 10, or about 233%
slope is a rate of change like velocity
