Definite integrals (the ones with boundaries, like here) are equal to the area under the curve f(x) on the specified interval.
In this problem, we are taking the area under the curve from 2 to 13 and subtracting the area under the same curve from 2 to 7, thus we will be left with the area under the curve from 7 to 13.
