f(x) = 6x^3 -9x + 4
for 6x^3 the power rule is to take the exponent and make it a coefficient, then reduce the power by 1, to get 3(6)x^2 = 18x^2
for a linear term, the derivative is just the coefficient =-9
for a constant term, the derivative is always zero
