f(x) = 3x^2 +2x +1
f'(x) = 6x +2
power rule is take the exponent and use it as a coefficeint, then reduce the exponent by 1
derivative of a linear term, like 2x, is just the coeffient 2
f'(x) = 3(2)x^(2-1) +2 = 6x +2
