Are ordering a pizza and going to bed late independent events?

Let Events A & B be described as follows:

  1. P(A) = ordering a pizza
  2. P(B) = going to bed late

The probability that a person will order a pizza is 48% and the probability of going to bed late is 38%. The probability of ordering pizza and going to bed late is 18.24%.

Are ordering a pizza and going to bed late independent events?

Yes, because the P(A)P(B) = P(A and B).

Yes, because the P(A) + P(B) = P(A and B).

No, because the P(A)P(B) ≠ P(A and B).

No, because the P(A) + P(B) ≠ P(A and B).
