= s(t) = (a/2)t^2 + vot + so where a=acceleration, vo = initial velocity, so= initial displacement or distance, t = time
v(t) = s'(t) = at + vo
a(t) = v'(t) = s"(t) = a
Usually these types of problems give you some partial information and you plug that into the above equations to solve for missing information.
It's a calculus problem because you have to take derivatives or integrals
