Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
4x^3/2x + x/2x - 3/2x
= 2x^(3-1) + (1/2)x^(1-1) -(3/2)x^(0-1)
=2x^2 +1/2 -(3/2)x^-1
x^a/x^b = x^(a-b)
when the base is the same, subtract the power in the denominator from the power in the numerator
if there is no power, it's implicity =1
