The equation you submitted does not match the figure you submitted. As the constant term gets larger the right side of the cardioid flattens out. Did you simply integrate the equation using the polar co-ordinate formula for area?

that is exactly what the problem says and that is the figure provided. that’s why i’m confused too. maybe i should try the polar co-ordinate formula for area.
