Can you help me find y value in this problem?

Consider u(y)=|y-2| - 2 on 0 \le y \le 4.

Absolute Maximum value................. at y = ..............,................. ,..................

Absolute Minimum value................. at y =...............,................ ,..................

(If applicable, enter coordinates in increasing order of y. Enter N in any blank that is not needed.)

I just got the derivative which is (y-2)/|y-2|=0, then y=2. how can I get the other values for y?

So, the minimum will be when y=2, f(y)=-2 and maximum when y=0, f(y)=0 and y=4, f(y)=0?

Yup, except it should be u(y) rather than f(y)!
