Calculate the average rate of change of the given function f over the intervals [a, a + h] where h = 1, 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, and 0.0001. (Technology is recommended for the cases h = 0.01, 0.001, and 0.0001.) (Round your answers to five decimal places.)
f(x)=8/x ; a=4
h = 1
h = 0.1
h = 0.01
h = 0.001
h = 0.0001

Jenna,
My recommendation is to use a TI-84 calculator
Make "y1" equal 8/x
go to "table" and start at 4, but vary the "step" to get your value
Otherwise, you can use a spreadsheet on a computer to do the same thing.
Hope this helps--Andrew F.

This is just a lot of arithmetic. As suggested some form of technology (calculator) is recommended. Have you done the first one?02/07/22
