 and lim x → 2 [3f(x) + f(x)g(x)] = 24.

 Find f(2).

I think the format is probably confusing you a bit.

If you think of it this way then it becomes a simple algebra equation:

3f(2) + f(2)g(2) = 24 when x approaches 2

So, f(2)(3 + g(2)) = 24, substitute g of 2 with 3 and solve.

[f(2) = 4]
